Earl Matthews is the Managing Director, Cloud and Consulting Programs, Public Sector, Google: Mandiant. A decorated retired Major General of the U.S. Air Force, with four decades of experience in Cyber, Information Technology and Space operations. His highpoints include serving as Director Cyberspace operations and Chief Information Security Officer for the U.S. Air Force. He oversaw a multi-billion-dollar cyber enterprise, leading a workforce of 76,000 military, civilian and contractor personnel, while supporting 850,000 customers and conducting cyber operations worldwide. He also served as Chief Information Officer, U.S. Transportation Command, the largest multi-module logistics organization in the world. Additionally, he commanded Ramstein Air Base, the Air Force’s largest overseas installation serving 53,000 Americans. He is universally respected as a motivational leader and change agent. As a cybersecurity subject matter expert, he addresses numerous technical conferences and university special events, and has testified before Congress. He currently advises industry, academia as well as government agencies and laboratories on Cybersecurity strategy, technology innovation and workforce development. Earl presently serves on the Boards of Directors for AFCEA International, as well as several professional organizations. He is also an advisor to the Department of Defense Science Board. General Matthews brings international business experience and executive leadership experience in Cybersecurity, operations, technology, talent management, and governance. His senior leadership positions have included Chief Strategy Officer, Verodin, Inc. leading to the startup’s acquisition by FireEye/Mandiant in 2019; Vice President and General Manager of U.S. Public Sector, Enterprise Security Solutions for HP/HPE/DXC Technology, the world’s leading independent end-to-end IT services and solutions company. Well documented, progressive career in the Government, Cyber Security P and L responsibility, and M and A experience. Earl earned his Bachelor of Science Business Administration degree from Northern Arizona University and Master of Arts degree from Webster University. A graduate of the Executive Business Program, Smeal Business College, Penn State University; Logistics and Technology, Kenan-Flagler Business School, UNC-Chapel Hill; and Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP).
