Alexander McFarland is the Department of War Olympus Lead Engineer in the Defense Information Systems Agency’s Hosting and Compute Directorate (J-9). He’s a cloud and DevSecOps engineer with more than 25 years of information technology experience, including more than 20 years supporting DOW IT. Prior to Olympus, McFarland designed, architected, and deployed the Vulcan DevSecOps platform. Before joining J-9, Alex worked as a contractor in principal architect and infrastructure team lead roles, supporting some of the DOW’s most visible web assets. He’s a DevSecOps evangelist who’s passionate about leveraging culture and automation to drive meaningful organizational change.
