In his final assignment, Chief Master Sergeant Bryan E. Neumann served as Senior Enlisted Advisor to the Assistant Secretary of War for Cyber Policy (ASW(CP)) and Principal Cyber Advisor to the Secretary of War at the Pentagon. In this capacity, he advised ASW(CP)/PCA on matters across the full portfolio of cyber forces and cyber activities with particular emphasis given to Service Secretary-like responsibilities and related legislative proposals and congressional activities. Moreover, he provided insights, assessments, recommendations, and feedback to the ASW(CP)/PCA on strategy, requirements, programs, and activities associated with implementation of cyberspace workforce recruitment, development, and retention. Additionally, he consulted with Department, Combatant Command, and Service leadership to ensure Cyber Policy's activities remain informed by operational realities and the needs of Cyber Operations Force service members, and synchronized with broader Service efforts. Chief Neumann entered the Air Force in 1997. His background includes various duties as a computer operator, computer programmer, cyber warfare operator, and cyber warfare planner at unit, operations center, and numbered air force levels. He has led in a variety of in-garrison and deployed support and operational positions from squadron to combatant command levels, with Air Force, joint, mission-partner, and coalition experience. Prior to this assignment, Chief Master Sergeant Neumann served as the Commandant for U.S. Cyber Command, Fort Meade, Maryland.
