Karen Guttieri, Ph.D.
Senior Fellow for Cyber Policy and Strategy
Janos LLC
Karen Guttieri, PhD is a national security scholar whose research examines how people and institutions cope with emergent forms of adversarial power — across cyber resilience, information warfare, and AI-driven disruption. She has held faculty and research roles at West Point's Army Cyber Institute, the Air Force Cyber College at Air University (as Dean), and the Naval Postgraduate School. She is currently Senior Fellow for Cyber Policy and Strategy at Janos LLC, an affiliate at Stanford's Center for International Security and Cooperation, and Associate Director of the non-profit Probability Management. Her current work examines when and why conventional performance metrics in cyber and AI-enabled systems give false signals about system behavior under stress. She is a recipient of the Military Cyber Professionals Association's Order of Thor and an Honorary Member of the U.S. Army Civil Affairs Regiment. linkedin.com/in/karenguttieri
