Nathan Long
PMO Technical Director, Hosting and Compute
Defense Information Systems Agency
Nathan Long is the Technical Director of the Product Management Office within the Defense Information Systems Agency’s Hosting and Compute Directorate (J-9). In this role, he provides technical leadership and strategic direction for key initiatives, including the Joint Warfighting Cloud Capability, DISA’s private cloud, Stratus, and other mission-critical projects. He’s responsible for guiding product development, ensuring alignment with warfighter needs, and advancing DISA’s cloud and computing capabilities. Before rejoining DISA, Long managed a $45 million portfolio in the private sector, supporting various Department of War components. His prior roles at DISA include serving as Communications Design and Automation Branch Chief and Technical Director for the Computing Ecosystem, where he played a pivotal role in modernizing enterprise information technology infrastructure and driving automation initiatives. His expertise spans cloud computing, IT modernization, systems architecture, and product management. Long’s contributions have been recognized through several prestigious awards, including the 2023 Dianne McCoy Award for Excellence in Acquisition and the DOD Chief Information Officer Award in both 2019 and 2023. His leadership has been instrumental in delivering innovative, scalable, and secure IT solutions that enhance mission readiness and operational efficiency. Beyond his professional achievements, Mr. Long is dedicated to mentoring emerging IT leaders and fostering collaboration across government and industry to drive technological advancements.
