Brig. Gen. Christman serves as the Air National Guard(ANG) Assistant to the Commander, Sixteenth Air Force(Air Forces Cyber), Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland, Texas. In this role, he leads integration of ANG intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance, cyber operations, electromagnetic warfare, weather, public affairs, and information operations capabilities to generate operational outcomes in the information environment for combatant commanders and air components He drives efforts to build, extend, operate, secure and defend the Air Force portion of the Department of War global network and serves as direct liaison between the Commander, Sixteenth Air Force and the Director, Air National Guard. Brig. Gen. Christman received his commission in May1998 from the Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps and began his operational assignment with the Air Force Information Warfare Center. In 2002, he joined the Delaware ANG and co-founded the 166th Network Warfare Squadron, the first of its kind in the ANG. Brig. Gen. Christman later assumed command of the 166th Cyberspace Operations Squadron and led the unit through its first two deployments to the Cyber National Mission Force. He is a veteran of Operations Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom and has led joint operations for U.S. Special Operations Command and U.S. Cyber Command. Prior to his current position, he served as the Assistant Adjutant General and Commander of the Delaware ANG where he organized, trained, and equipped forces for tactical airlift, aeromedical evacuation, and cyber operations missions.
