Darrell Williams serves as Assistant Deputy Chaplain for the Department of War Cyber Defense Command and Defense Information Systems Agency. He provides spiritual leadership and religious support that enhances the readiness, resilience, and empowerment of DCDC and DISA military members, civilians, and their families. He previously served as Coaching Program Manager for the White House Communications Agency, which is one of three tiers of the WHCA Wellness Team that consists of the White House Military Office Chaplains and Psychologists. He is a Master Certified Life Coach and part of the Federal Coaching Network. He also serves in senior leadership roles in his church and community. Williams is a retired United States Army veteran and served at various stateside and overseas locations. He also worked in a variety of leadership positions to include Chief, Military Personnel for Operations; Chief, Human Resources Branch; and Deputy Brigade Human Resources Chief. Williams also operated as an Operations Lead and Vice Presidential Communication Officer for WHCA, where he led over 500 White House missions. He is a certified facilitator who trained senior managers at the WHCA Training Academy to travel as Vice Presidential White House Military Office Leads, while simultaneously training mid-level managers to travel as Presidential Operations Leads. Following 9/11, Williams was selected as one of the original five leaders from 30 senior managers to direct emergency action communications for the Vice President of the United States, including duties as an Air Force Two Command Representative. Additional career highlights include leading several short-notice, complex presidential missions to examine the effects of Hurricane Andrew in Florida and tornado damage in Arkansas, selection as a WHCA All-Star member, as well as the WHCA Senior Manager of the Year. Additionally, he was selected as a DISA Outstanding Mentor and Mission Support Services Team of the Year. In addition to completing multiple military and civilian leadership programs, Williams has received numerous professional awards, including the Presidential Service Badge; Lacey B. Ivory Service Award; Roy Wilkins Renown Service Award; National Louis University Reach Award; and the Strayer University Outstanding Alumni Award. Williams has a bachelor’s in management from National Louis University and an MBA from Strayer University. He is also a member of the White House Communications Agency Hall of Fame.
