William Westler

William Westler is Vice President of the Rockies Business Unit at Devon Energy, based in Oklahoma City, OK. Originally from Colorado, William holds a BS in Petroleum Engineering from the Colorado School of Mines. He began his career in 2000 with BP Exploration & Production Company in Houston, TX, gaining valuable experience in both offshore and onshore drilling and completion operations. William advanced his technical expertise at Apache Corporation, focusing on completion and fracture stimulation design, as well as reservoir engineering. He later served as Completions Manager for the Anadarko Basin in Tulsa, OK, before joining WPX Energy as Reservoir Manager for the Williston Basin. In 2017, he transitioned to the Delaware Basin as Director of Planning and Subsurface, eventually overseeing both the Delaware and Williston Basins. Following the merger of WPX Energy and Devon Energy in 2021, William was promoted to his current leadership role, where he continues to guide the Rockies Business Unit. Outside of work, William enjoys playing golf and traveling with his wife, Laura, and their three daughters, Evy, Lizzy, and Milly. He is looking forward to celebrating his 25th wedding anniversary this year.
