Dr. Jose Zaghloul, Continental Resources’ Senior Reservoir Engineering Advisor, brings more than 30 years of hands-on experience across a wide spectrum of global oil and gas recovery projects. His professional background includes pivotal roles advancing primary, secondary, and tertiary recovery projects in conventional and unconventional fields. His experience includes waterflooding, continuous gas floods, Enhanced Coal Bed Methane, and Miscible Gas Huff n Puff EOR. He has held senior reservoir engineering positions with leading companies such as BP America, BHP Billiton, Ecopetrol, and Chesapeake Energy, where he was instrumental in the design, modeling, and operation of major EOR pilots. Currently, Dr. Zaghloul is continuing this vital technical work at Continental Resources. Dr. Zaghloul’s expertise spans fluid characterization, PVT and EoS modeling, rate transient analysis, fracture modeling, and integrated reservoir model development. He holds a Ph.D. in Petroleum and Natural Gas Engineering from The Pennsylvania State University and remains a recognized authority on reservoir performance and EOR process optimization. He is a sought-after industry speaker, combining a practical understanding of field operations with deep technical expertise. In 2025, Dr. Zaghloul was honored with the SPE Mid-Continent North America Award on Reservoir Description and Dynamics.
