Mathias Schlecht joined ColdStream Energy as President and Chief Executive Officer in October 2022. He brings more than two decades of global leadership experience across the energy, technology, and oilfield services sectors. Prior to ColdStream, Mathias served as both Chief Technology Officer and later Chief Executive Officer at Biota Technology, where he combined deep oilfield services expertise with advancements in data science and biotechnology. Under his leadership, the company supported operators in reducing lifting costs while lowering environmental impact. Before Biota, Mathias spent over 20 years at Baker Hughes in a wide range of senior leadership positions, including Vice President of Technology for Drilling & Evaluation, Vice President of Drilling Services, Chief Engineer, and Vice President of Enterprise Technology. Throughout these roles, he developed extensive experience in global operations, service delivery, technology development, commercialization, and strategic business leadership. Across his career, Mathias has focused on understanding customer and market needs, driving business results, and bringing differentiated products and service solutions to market. He holds both a Dr.-Ing. (Ph.D.) and a Dipl.-Ing. (M.Sc.) in Mechanical Engineering from the Technical University of Hamburg-Harburg in Germany.
