Nathan is a native of Minot, North Dakota, and received a BS in Geology from North Dakota State University. Nathan has over 25 years of engineering, land, environmental, health, safety, asset development and operations experience in the oil & gas industry. In 2004, Nathan joined PDC Energy, leading and serving in varying roles of increasing responsibility and most recently as Senior Asset Director overseeing the company’s west Texas assets prior to the acquisition of Chevron. Nathan has worked on industry projects and assets throughout the United States including North Dakota, Texas, Wyoming, New Mexico, Michigan, Colorado, Kansas and Ohio.  Nathan joined the team at the Department of Mineral Resources in September of 2024.
