Toby Deen serves as a Senior Advisor in the U.S. Department of Energy’s Hydrocarbon and Geothermal Energy Office. A licensed Professional Engineer, he brings over 15 years of experience in both the public and private sectors of the energy industry. He began his career developing unconventional oil and gas assets across the Lower 48, where he led technical and commercial initiatives that advanced resource recovery and capital efficiency. Over the past five years, he has played a key role in multiple acquisition and divestiture transactions totaling more than $5 billion. A native of Choctaw, Oklahoma, Toby earned his bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Oklahoma.
