Lieutenant Colonel Sean Tyler Frankum is a U.S. Army network engineer and Ph.D. student in Computer Science at the University of Georgia. His military experience includes service on a Cyber National Mission Force Joint Task Force staff, where he led communications, resourcing, and acquisition functions. He previously served as a Division Network Engineer with the 3rd Infantry Division; a Defensive Cyber Operations planner supporting Combined Joint Task Force–Operation Inherent Resolve; a Mission Element Leader on a Cyber Protection Team; and a Field Artillery Officer supporting Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation New Dawn. His research focuses on cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, and cyber threat intelligence. He is interested in how emerging technologies can support operational cyber defense, improve analyst workflows, and help organizations transform complex technical information into actionable intelligence.
