Dr. Mary Davis joined the Columbia County School District in 2013 as a business teacher at the Alternative School. Dr. Davis transitioned to Lakeside High School and teaches the Cybersecurity pathway - AP Networking, AP Cybersecurity, and AP Business with Personal Finance. Dr. Davis sponsors the CyberPatriot program and Future Business Leaders of America. Dr. Davis studied at Montreat College, earning a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Management Information Systems with a minor in Computer Science. Upon completing her degrees, she gained employment at a software and hardware design firm located in Asheville, North Carolina. This began her journey into the world of computers, programming, and cyber. After several years, she relocated to Augusta and began working at Troy University Augusta as the Assistant Director of Finance where she earned a Master of Science in Organizational Behavior. After a few years away from the workforce, Dr. Davis decided a career change was in order and began teaching. She was excited to be able to teach business and computers to young students. She began with Business Technology and Business Communications. However, an opportunity to transfer to Lakeside arose to transition into the Cyber program. It was during this time that Dr. Davis earned a Doctorate of Education in Curriculum Studies from Georgia Southern University. Dr. Davis is most proud of her family. Her husband, T.J. is also a teacher and coach at Lakeside, and their three children, Mason, Emma, and Blake.
