Bill Lemons is a Director of Systems Engineering at Fortinet Federal Inc. where he manages the pre-sales engineering resources needed to secure the infrastructure of the US Federal Government. Bill’s team supports Federal agencies, Federal System Integrators, and members of the Defense Industrial Base and works closely with the Channel and Partner community supporting the Federal Government. He brings more than 30 years of experience in network design and operations, systems engineering, software development, and engineering management to the Fortinet Federal System Engineering team. Bill has supported networking and telecommunications programs at both top companies like 3Com and COMSAT Laboratories as well as small businesses, but his passion for serving a greater mission always brings him back to serving Federal needs. He served as Federal Systems Engineering Director for Juniper Networks and for the past seven years, Bill has led teams at Fortinet and Fortinet Federal to develop, deploy, and operate trusted cybersecurity services for Civilian agencies. Bill has been cited by Federal News Network, ATARC, AFCEA and FedGovToday for his initiatives in modernization and the zero trust approach to network architecture. He is committed to the implementation of zero trust as the gold standard for securing data.
