Mr. Langley is a seasoned technology leader currently serving as the Army Computing Environment Division Chief at the Department of the Army’s Network Enterprise Technology Command (NETCOM), Fort Huachuca, Arizona. With 24 years of experience in systems engineering, architecture, cybersecurity, and strategic leadership, Mr. Langley specializes in delivering innovative solutions and driving enterprise-level technology transformations for the Army. He began his career in the United States Army in 2001, specializing in telecommunications and network operations. His early military career included multiple deployments supporting Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan and Uzbekistan, as well as representing the Army’s fledgling data package capabilities during Operation Bright Star in Egypt. Following his active-duty service, Mr. Langley advanced his technical and leadership skills in various roles across industry and federal service. He has successfully led critical projects including the Joint Interoperability Test Command’s network engineering teams in multinational exercises such as the Joint Defense of Israel Exercise (JDIE) and Juniper Cobra, and managed systems validation efforts for the Defense Information Systems Agency’s (DISA) relocation to Fort Meade, Maryland. In his current role, Mr. Langley spearheads NETCOM’s strategic computing initiatives, advising senior Army leaders on virtualized hosting, hybrid cloud integration, and Software as a Service adoption. His strategic vision and technical expertise have notably influenced Army-wide policies and procedures, achieving substantial efficiencies through innovative data center operations and cloud migration strategies. He reflects fondly on his time as a member of the NETCOM Command Strategy Group, collaborating with academia, industry, and Federally Funded Research and Development Centers, to find and adapt industry-driven approaches for Army use, and in his time as a Subject Matter Expert for network operations capabilities within NETCOM’s Operational Engineering Division. Mr. Langley holds a Master of Science in Data Science from The Johns Hopkins University, and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from the University of Arizona with a specialization in Artificial Intelligence. He maintains several certifications including CISSP, CCNP, ITIL v3, Red Hat OpenStack, and Lean Six Sigma. His professional interests focus on intelligent systems, cloud computing, cybersecurity strategy, and process improvement methodologies. In his personal time, he enjoys spending time with his wife, two daughters, and two sons, when he’s not outpaced by their routine roster of activities-- which includes soccer, horse riding, mountain biking, swimming, track and field, cross country, and finding wonder. Through dedicated leadership, deep technical knowledge, and strategic vision, Mr. Langley remains committed to advancing organizational efficiency, innovation, and mission readiness within the Army and broader defense communities.
