Colonel David Bergmann was named Project Manager, Cyber Warfare, in July 2026. His most recent assignment was as a student of the United States Army War College. He was previously assigned to the Office of the Secretary of Defense, serving as the Military Assistant to the Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition and Sustainment. Previous non-command assignments include service as an Anti-Tank and Scout Platoon Leader, Scout Troop Executive Officer within 3rd Brigade, 2ID; Assistant TRADOC Capability Manager at Fort Benning, GA, Department of the Army System Coordinator, Assistant Product Manager for PM Ground Soldier Systems, Deputy Chief of Staff to the Assistant Secretary of the Army for Acquisition, Logistics, and Technology, and Executive Officer to the Deputy Commanding General of the Combined Security Transition Command - Afghanistan. His command assignments include 35 months as the Product Manager for Ground Sensors within Program Executive Office Intelligence, Electronic Warfare, and Sensors; 24 months as the Commander for Headquarters and Headquarters Troop, 2nd Squadron, 16th Cavalry Regiment. Colonel Bergmann holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Alabama in Huntsville and a Master of Strategic Studies from the United States Army War College. His awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal, the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, the Meritorious Service Medal with 3 OLC, the Army Commendation Medal with 3 Oak Leaf Clusters (OLC) and V Device, the Air Assault Badge, and the Combat Action Badge. He received his commission as an Armor Officer from the United States Military Academy in 2003 and is currently an Army Acquisitions Officer specializing in Program Management. He is a graduate of the Armor Officer Basic and Advanced Courses, Air Assault School, Command and General Staff College, and is certified as an Advanced Defense Acquisition Professional. Colonel Bergmann is married to Ms. Aspen Bergmann and they have two children.
