LTC Erik Kifune commissioned as an Infantry Second Lieutenant in June 2007. His initial assignment was with the 1st Cavalry Division, where he deployed as an Executive Officer before serving as a Platoon Leader and Battalion Operations Officer. After completing the Maneuver Captain’s Career Course, he was assigned to the 25th Infantry Division and deployed to Afghanistan as an Assistant Operations Officer. He subsequently commanded Charlie Company and later Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 2nd Battalion, 27th Infantry Regiment. Following company command, LTC Kifune transitioned to the Army Acquisition Corps. His acquisition assignments include roles as an Assistant Product Manager with PEO IEW&S, Capability Developer at the Maneuver Capabilities and Integration Directorate, and Science & Technology Portfolio Manager at the Army Research Laboratory. His most recent assignment was as a Training with Industry Fellow with Deloitte. LTC Kifune holds a Master’s in Business Administration from the Naval Post Graduate School and earned a Bachelor of Science from the University of California, Santa Barbara. LTC Kifune’s awards and decorations include the Bronze Star Medal, the Meritorious Service Medal with three Oak Leaf Clusters, the Expert Infantryman’s Badge, the Parachutist Badge, and the Ranger Tab. LTC Kifune is married to the former Hanh Truong and they have two children.
