Adam Schildge is the Acting Associate Administrator for Budget and Policy and Chief Financial Officer at the Federal Transit Administration, one of US DOT’s nine operating administrations. In this role, he oversees the agency’s policy development, strategic planning, budgeting, and financial management in support of the FTA’s mission to improve America’s communities through public transportation. Adam previously served as the agency’s policy director and was responsible for FTA’s portfolio of formula and competitive grant programs, including the agency’s Emergency Relief Program and former Federal lands transportation programs. Adam was recognized in 2015 by the Partnership for Public Service with a Service to America Medal for managing FTA’s response to Hurricane Sandy. He received a second Service to America medal in 2023 as a member of the DOT team responsible for implementing the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act. Adam received his BA from Middlebury College in Middlebury, VT and a Master of Urban Planning from Hunter College in New York City. He has lived and traveled abroad in Europe and enjoys cycling, camping, and spending time outdoors with his wife and three kids.
