For over 26 years Mike has helped develop, design and integrate pedestrian entrance control systems at corporate buildings, data centers, airports, and critical infrastructure facilities. His portfolio includes architectural optical turnstile, and security revolving door/portals systems at many of the USA’s most secure and iconic buildings and campuses. He is a frequent author on the subject of access control, entrance control, and turnstiles, and is published by trade journals such as Security Today, Security Products, Government Security News, American Security Today, University Business, and Security Journal Americas. As a speaker, he has presented to ASIS Chapters across the USA and at ASIS GSX (2020, 2021, 2022, 2025), ISC East 2025, Data Center World (2025 2026) and 7x24 Fall 2025 on integrated security and data center security topics. McGovern is a certified PSP through ASIS, an active member of the ASIS SAEC (Security Architecture and Engineering Community) Steering Committee, and the Security Industry Association (SIA) Data Center Advisory Board. As VP Data Center Security at Orion Entrance Control he leads their A&E program, as well as their data center security entrance control business and product development strategy.
