James Mills is a career cyber, information warfare, surface warfare, and technology senior leader presently leading customer success and partnership programs in Virtru’s Global defense and intelligence business. Previously at Microsoft, James led programs to advance cloud and AI mission programs for the Defense Industrial Base, development of mission systems for Sensitive Mission programs, and engineering build out and accreditation of Azure’s classified clouds. James retired from the US Navy after serving as Chief of Staff, US Fleet Cyber Command and the 17,000 person Tenth Fleet. He was a key player in the establishment of the Cyber Mission Force. In the Pacific theater, he served as Commodore, Task Force 1070, Commanding Officer of the 2,600 person NIOC Hawaii (now NIOC Pacific), served on the PACFLT staff, and has deployed to Third, Fifth, and Seventh Fleets on multiple at sea deployments.
