Steef Crombach

Curator, Educator, and Soft Sculpture Artist


Steef Crombach is a curator, educator, and soft sculpture artist from the Netherlands, now based in the United States. Known for her experimental work in fabric, Crombach has exhibited widely in both national and international galleries across the U.S. and Europe. Crombach founded artist-in-residence programs in both Los Angeles and Austin, has taught at the Contemporary art school and her work is part of Austin’s permanent art collection. She is currently in residency at LV collective’s Paseo, was Big Medium’s inaugural artist-in-residence, named Concept Animals’ Favorite Fiber Artist, and has held solo shows at Ivester Contemporary, La Ruche HTX, and Women & Their Work. Her art seeks to surface overlooked but significant points of reference buried deep within our collective consciousness, in search of the elements that will become part of our shared memory when we look back.
