Dr. Adam B. Katchmarchi is Vice President of Educational Development for the Pool & Hot Tub Alliance (PHTA), where he leads the development of education, training, and professional development programs for the pool, spa, hot tub, and aquatics industry. His work focuses on building accessible, technically sound learning experiences for builders, service professionals, retailers, manufacturers, facility operators, and industry leaders. Adam is a nationally recognized educator, nonprofit executive, researcher, and water safety advocate with expertise in aquatic risk management, drowning prevention, pool and spa operations, facility management, curriculum development, and leadership. Prior to joining PHTA, he served as CEO of the National Drowning Prevention Alliance, where he led partnerships, conferences, campaigns, research, and programs focused on reducing drowning and improving water safety. Adam also served as a tenured Associate Professor at Indiana University of Pennsylvania, teaching courses in public health, aquatics, safety, program planning, and risk management. He holds a Ph.D. from West Virginia University and has spent his career connecting research, practice, and education to strengthen professional standards in aquatic environments. As a speaker, Adam brings a practical, engaging, and mission-driven perspective to industry education, workforce development, leadership, water safety, and the future of the pool and hot tub industry.
