2027 Pool & Spa Show

Jeff Smidt
Owner
Puddle Pool Services of Monmouth County

Jeff Smidt is the owner of Puddle Pool Services of Monmouth County, a residential & commercial pool service company in New Jersey. Before starting his route, he spent more than a decade building large-scale cloud and data systems in the technology industry, where accuracy and repeatable processes were everything. He brought that same mindset to the pool deck. Frustrated by how much of water chemistry is still done by feel, he built LSEye.com, a free water chemistry calculator that turns a set of test readings into a correct, in-order dose plan using the Langelier Saturation Index. Service pros and pool owners use it to take the guesswork out of balancing water and to avoid the costly mistakes that lead to scaled heaters, etched surfaces, and repeat callbacks. Jeff is hands-on in the field every week, which keeps his work grounded in what actually happens on the truck rather than in theory. He writes and speaks about applying modern technology, including AI, to everyday pool service in a practical, no-hype way: where it genuinely helps a technician, and where human judgment still wins. His goal for every session is simple: send people home with a clearer understanding of their craft and at least one thing they can use the very next morning.
