Saravanan Andan is a Principal Scientist on Magnera’s product development team in Old Hickory, Tennessee. With more than a decade of experience in R&D and product development, he specializes in polymer extrusion, nonwoven technologies, filtration media development, and lamination processes. His work includes the successful development and commercialization of advanced filtration media for air, gas, and liquid applications, including pool and spa systems. Saravanan also serves as Chair of the American Filtration and Separations Society (AFS), providing strategic leadership to advance the field, strengthen collaboration between industry and academia, and expand opportunities for professional engagement, networking, and technical knowledge exchange within the filtration and separations community. He holds a Bachelor of Technology in Chemical Engineering from NIT India and a PhD in Chemical Engineering from the University of Akron, where he specialized in filtration science.
