Michael Newell is the President of Southwest Consulting Associates (SCA) in Plano, TX with over 30 years of healthcare financial management experience. SCA, formed in 1989, has steadily built its practice into the nation’s leading Medicare Disproportionate Share (DSH) reimbursement and S-10 uncompensated care assurance program. Prior to joining SCA, Mr. Newell was the Vice President of Reimbursement Services for Triad Hospitals Inc. (Fortune 500 Company) that operated 54 hospitals and 13 ambulatory surgery centers across the country. Mr. Newell also served as Vice President of Reimbursement for Charter Behavioral Health System that owned and operated approximately 90 behavioral health hospitals. Michael regularly participates in webinars on Medicare DSH and S-10 and has also presented at various HFMA events on both topics.
