Rick’s healthcare career spans 38 years. Prior to forming Princeton Healthcare Consulting, Rick founded and led Equation Consulting, a healthcare economics and analytics firm for 11 years. Prior to Equation, he served as a senior director of Phase 2 Consulting for 10 years, spent 6 years in solo consulting practice, and worked 10 years in physician practice operations (after attending Brigham Young University). Rick has worked on 500+ projects with hospitals and health systems, large and small physician practices, academic medical centers and faculty practice plans, employed physician groups, hospital-based physicians, and across most medical and surgical specialties. He specializes in physician economics, operations and strategy and organizing physician-led, professionally managed patient service line delivery models for hospitals and health systems. Rick is a former board member of the Association of Management Consulting Firms, former President of INFORMS/Spreadsheet Productivity Group, and advisory board member of Mercy College MBA/Strategic Consulting Institute. Rick is best known and referred to others as an expert in precise and clear analytical modeling for physician economics.
