Michael Kuberski is Director of Utility Communications for Exelon, a Fortune 100 Energy Company. Exelon’s six utilities deliver electricity and natural gas to approximately 10 million customers in Delaware, the District of Columbia, Illinois, Maryland, New Jersey and Pennsylvania through its Atlantic City Electric, BGE, ComEd, Delmarva Power, PECO and Pepco subsidiaries. In his current position, Michael is charged with engineering and operations of Exelon’s private communications systems that supports the real time networks and enterprise transport. His primary responsibilities are to engineer, deploy and maintain the private communications systems and real time networks used to operate Exelon’s electric and gas systems. This includes ensuring these systems are designed, operated and maintained in a secure manner. In a prior position, Michael was Chief Information Security Officer for Pepco Holdings Inc. (PHI), a regional energy holding company and parent company of Atlantic City Electric, Delmarva Power and Potomac Electric Power Company. In this role, his primary responsibility was to develop and maintain a corporate-wide risk management program that identifies, evaluates and reports on information technology security risks in a manner that meets regulatory requirements and represents acceptable levels of risk for the enterprise. Michael has been part of the electric industry since 1987 and has progressed through a series of positions and responsibilities including Engineering; Telecommunications, Enterprise Architecture, System Protection and Control, Distribution Automation and most recently being responsible for Exelon’s private communications systems. Michael has more than 30 years of experience planning additions and engineering changes to electric system, telecommunications infrastructure, voice communications systems and corporate applications.
