Ken Becker was born in Auburn, Indiana and graduated from Northwood High School in Nappanee, Indiana. He has been married to his wife Carla since 1975. He and Carla moved to Texas in 1982. They have two married daughters; Jennifer Ann Rosas and Erin Michelle Gomez. He also has four beautiful granddaughters and one grandson. After graduation, Ken chose the school of hard and has worked as a production worker building RV’s, Salesman for a specialty steel company, Owner of a construction company, managed a Chamber of Commerce, managed a TSTC campus, and currently the Executive Director of Sweetwater Economic Development. Ken has been active in the communities of Sweetwater and Brownwood where he has served on several local, regional and statewide boards. Ken is a supporter of regionalism and enjoys talking to people about his community and the benefits of renewable energy to a rural communities. He is an active member in the First United Methodist Church and enjoys spending time with his family, volunteering, and dabbles with woodworking, construction and yard work.
