Dawn Jurgensmeier is an Information Technology Manager for Salt River Project (SRP) embedded in the Grid Modernization Services organization in Phoenix, Arizona. Previous to that she has worked as an IT architect on teams running projects and strategies related to Advanced Distribution Management Systems (ADMS), Outage Management Systems (OMS), Advanced Inverters, Distributed Energy Resources (DER), Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI), Geographic Information Systems (GIS), and the Internet of Things (IoT). Additionally she works with the Utility Technology Council (UTC) and has published an article on how DERs are driving automation on the grid in the UTC Journal. She is the chairperson for the UTC Smart Networks Council and the champion for the Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI) 161E Enterprise Architecture and Integration program. Prior to joining the architecture team at SRP, Dawn worked as a computer programmer for GIS applications, including helping to build a custom Outage Management System. She also worked as an adjunct professor for Mesa Community College teaching classes on Quality Assurance testing in software development, and was a Quality Assurance engineer for Mitel. Dawn graduated from Arizona State University with a B.S.E. in Computer Systems Engineering.
