Richard Graubart is a Senior Principal Cyber Security Engineer at the MITRE Corporation, with over 37 years of cyber security experience. He has worked in multiple areas of cyber security including data base management security, healthcare information system security, operating system access control, privacy engineering, and biometrics. His primary focus areas for the last several years has been cyber resiliency and cyber security policy. With regards to cyber resiliency he has supported some of the area’s seminal work, has co-authored over a dozen publicly released papers on the topic, is one of the co-authors of the recently released NIST SP 800-160 Volume 2: Systems Security Engineering: Cyber Resiliency Considerations for the Engineering of Trustworthy Secure Systems and overseen the Annual Secure and Resilient Cyber Architectures Invitational (which is now in its 8th year). With regards to cyber security policy he has helped author key documents such DCID 6/3, NIST 800-37, NIST 800-39 and NIST 800-53. During his long tenure at MITRE he has provide cyber security expertise for over a dozen federal agencies and departments, giving him an appreciation for the diversity of the cyber security needs across the federal government. Mr. Graubart received both his Bachelor of Computer Science and Engineering and his Master of Computer and Information Science from the University of Pennsylvania.
