Dr. Jan Beringer

Dr. Jan Beringer was born in 1972 in Ostfildern near Stuttgart, Germany. After studying chemistry with special subject textile and fiber chemistry at the University of Stuttgart, he started his career by entering the Hohenstein Institutes as Head of the Competence Center Innovative Textiles in 2003. Since 2009 he is the head of research and development of the Department Function and Care. The Department mainly specializes in research and testing in the fields of clothing physiology, fit and workmanship of garments, functionalization of fabrics, textile UV protection, textile reprocessing and is registered as Notified Body and Test Centre for Personal Protective Equipment. Dr. Jan Beringer has extensive knowledge in textile and fiber Chemistry, functionalization, nanotechnology, coating and finishing.
