Kim Lopdrup has served as CEO of Red Lobster Seafood Co. since it was acquired by Golden Gate Capital in July 2014. Under Kim’s leadership, Red Lobster has achieved record guest satisfaction, exceptionally low employee turnover and improving sales and EBITDA. The company also recently completed comprehensive kitchen upgrades that significantly improve food quality while also helping increase speed of service and employee productivity. Kim previously served as President of the Specialty Restaurant Group and New Business for Darden Restaurants, leading their Capital Grille, Seasons 52, Eddie V’s, Bahama Breeze and Yard House brands as well as Darden’s International Division. Prior to that, he led Red Lobster as President for seven years. Before joining Red Lobster, Kim served as EVP and COO, North America, for Burger King Corporation. Earlier, Kim spent 16 years with Allied Domecq Quick Service Restaurants (now called Dunkin’ Brands), the franchisor of Dunkin’ Donuts and Baskin-Robbins. Kim began his career in brand management at Procter & Gamble, working on Folgers and High Point coffees and Citrus Hill orange juice. Kim earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from the College of William and Mary and an MBA with distinction from Harvard Business School.
