Alex R. Baghdassarian is a Partner in Peckar & Abramson's Los Angeles office. His practice focuses on construction contract negotiations and administration, and claims and litigation, including construction defects and delays, and claims involving defaults and terminations. Mr. Baghdassarian handles binding arbitrations, and jury and bench trials in Federal and State Court and represents clients in Northern and Southern California. Mr. Baghdassarian obtained a $152 million jury verdict for the owner in the Royal Palm Resort litigation, a 10-month jury trial on Guam involving the structural collapse of a high-rise hotel during an earthquake. He also represented the owners of the Frank Gehry designed Walt Disney Concert Hall in connection with $60 million in claims asserted by the contractors and obtained a $30 million arbitration award in connection with construction defects involving an inert debris landfill. Mr. Baghdassarian helped negotiate the construction contracts for two marquis projects in Los Angeles: The Wilshire Grand, which, upon completion in 2017, became the tallest building west of the Mississippi, and the Midfield Satellite Concourse project, the first all new terminal construction at the Los Angeles International Airport since the 1960's, which will house 22 new aircraft gates. He's been involved in several entertainment and sports complex projects, including the Anaheim Convention Center Expansion, Roberts Pavilion Athletics and Recreation Center at Claremont McKenna College, the Golden 1 Center in Sacramento, Stanford University's Bing Concert Hall and, most recently, has been Project Counsel on the L.A. Stadium & Entertainment District project slated for completion in 2020. Mr. Baghdassarian received his law degree from the University of Southern California, and he served as an extern to the Hon.
