Ashley B. Jordan is a partner in Reed Smith's Insurance Recovery Group, named 2021 Insurance Litigation Department of the Year by The American Lawyer. Ashley has recovered more than $200 million in insurance proceeds for Fortune 500 and middle market businesses. Her practice focuses on insurance claims for stakeholders in the construction and energy industries. In 2022, Ashley was one of five insurance recovery lawyers in the country to be named a "Break Out Award" winner by Business Insurance. She was selected in 2022 as a "Top 100 Lawyer" in Los Angeles by the Los Angeles Business Journal and a "Top Woman Lawyer" in California by the Daily Journal. Ashley was also recognized by The Legal 500 for "Insurance: Advice to Policyholders" in 2022. The Legal 500 quotes clients who say Ashley exhibits "an excellent understanding of the insurance sector" and comes up with "pragmatic solutions to complex issues and problems." Ashley assists energy and construction industry participants resolve high-stakes insurance coverage disputes. When a loss has occurred, she guides clients through the insurance claims process. When insurance companies contest coverage, Ashley secures insurance payouts through negotiation, litigation, and arbitration. Ashley also helps clients proactively manage risk by performing insurance program audits; negotiating insurance policy language to eliminate coverage gaps; and counselling clients on contracts affecting insurance coverage and liability. Ashley is the Co-Chair of her office's Women's Initiative Network and serves on the Advisory Board of the Institute for Energy Law. She is the current Co-Chair for the Construction Law Subsection of the Los Angeles County Bar Association. She also serves on the Legal Advisory Committee for the Associated General Contractors of California and the Steering Committee for the Construction Law Practice Area Committee of the California Lawyers Association.
