Colonel James F. Reynolds is the Senior Materiel Leader of Advanced Systems Division, Space Superiority Systems Directorate, Space and Missile Systems Center, Los Angeles, California. He leads a 60-person government and 400-person industry team of acquisition, engineering, operations, intelligence, and security specialists executing a multi-billion dollar budget. The Division plans, develops, tests, deploys and sustains several Presidential-priority classified capabilities that provide the nation with critical warfighting advantages and enable space superiority. Colonel Reynolds received his commission through the Virginia Tech ROTC program in 1993. He is a graduate of Squadron Officer School, Air Force Intern Program, Air Command and Staff College, Air Force Institute of Technology, Air War College, and Defense Systems Management College. He is a member of the Acquisition Corps, and has distinguished himself in a variety of space acquisition and operations leadership positions, including Squadron Commander, Materiel Leader, and System Program Office Director. He has served in assignments at multiple Air Force product centers, the National Reconnaissance Office, and Headquarters Air Force. He is currently detailed as the Space Acquisition Transformation Lead for the Space and Missile Systems Center restructuring effort known as SMC 2.0.
