Colonel Timothy M. McKenzie is the Chief, Advanced Development Division, Military Satellite Communications (MILSATCOM) Systems Directorate, Space and Missile Systems Center, Los Angeles Air Force Base, California. He is responsible for fielding the next generation of polar and tactical MILSATCOM systems supporting the Air Force and the Department of Defense. Prior to this assignment he was a student at the Air War College, Maxwell Air Force Base, Alabama where he earned a Master of Arts in Strategic Studies. Before attending Air War College, Colonel McKenzie served as the Material Leader, Advanced Payloads Division, National Reconnaissance Office, Chantilly, Virginia. In this role, Colonel McKenzie was responsible for developing and deploying advanced imaging technology, payloads, and small satellite systems. His career has spanned a wide variety of space operations, technical management, leadership, and staff positions. Colonel McKenzie entered the Air Force in 1993 through the ROTC program at Northern Arizona University where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering.
