Col Sarah Fullwood, USMCR, received her Bachelor of Science in History from the U.S. Naval Academy and was commissioned a 2ndLt in May 1993. After graduating from The Basic School in March 1994, she reported to the Public Affairs Officer Course (PAOC) at Fort Benjamin Harrison in Indianapolis. Upon graduation, she served as the Press Officer and Media Officer in the Camp Lejeune Consolidated Public Affairs Office until August 1996. She was then assigned as the Public Affairs Officer for MCAS New River and promoted to Captain in June 1997. Also in 1997, she was named the Marine Corps Athlete of the Year and was selected to represent the United States at the Counsil International Military Sports Council (CISM) Cross Country Championships. From 2002 to 2006 she was activated as the MCB Quantico Assistant Manpower Officer and Deputy Public Affairs Officer (PAO) for Marine Corps Combat Development Command. She also served on active duty as the PAO for the Joint Non-Lethal Weapons Directorate from 2006-2007. During her service at Quantico, she continued to represent the USMC in various athletic championships to include the US/UK Challenge Cup, the Armed Forces Eco-Challenge, the Wilderness Challenge, Primal Quest, and Armed Forces Cross Country Championships. In July 2013, Col Fullwood was reassigned to the IMA Detachment at the Marine Corps Warfighting Lab in Quantico, VA, and was activated as the Deputy Director of the Wargaming Division. From 2015 to 2018, Col Fullwood was assigned to the IMA Detachment at United States European Command where she served as a Battle Watch Captain in the USEUCOM Joint Operations Center. In July 2018, Col Fullwood was selected as the Military Assistant for the Assistant to the Secretary of Defense for Public Affairs at the Pentagon and served in that post until July 2019. She was then assigned to her current position as the Chief of Semper Fit and Recreation Branch in Marine and Family Programs Division at Quantico, VA.
