Marine Corps Installations Command (MCICOM), G7 Modernization and Development Directorate
Col. Matthew Hakola is the Assistant Chief of Staff, Marine Corps Installations Command (MCICOM), G7 Modernization and Development Directorate. He assumed this role in June 2019 and brings over 23 years of experience as a Marine Corps logistician. Col. Hakola is currently responsible for designing, implementing, analyzing and improving innovative strategies to modernize Marine Corps installations across nine vectors of the Installation neXt initiative: mobility, resilience, protection, training & range support, command and control, community, maintenance, operational reach and data. Col. Hakola is a graduate of the Command and General Staff College and National Defense University, and he holds a master’s degree in professional studies in supply chain management from Pennsylvania State University.
