In his role as he is responsible for Able Engineering’s accounts from mid New Jersey to Florida. Able provides outsourced Maintenance staff for Commercial, Residential, Hospitality and Retail real estate owners and managers. Major clients include Liberty Property Trust, Brandywine Realty Trust, Shorenstein, LCOR, Simon Malls, Equity Commonwealth, Trump International Hotels and Piedmont. His team includes approximately 350 Engineering Managers, Operations Managers, Chief Engineers and Maintenance staff at 75 sites in 8 states. He is also responsible for the negotiation and administration of Union contracts with IUOE Locals 835, 542, 99, 95 and 37 (International Union of Operating Engineers), SEIU Local 32BJ (Service Employees International Union), and Steamfitters Local 420. He is also Vice President of BOLR (Building Operators Labor Relations, Inc.) as well as a Trustee for the Local 32BJ Local 36 Health and Welfare Fund (Philadelphia) and the IUOE Local 99 and 99A Health and Welfare Fund (Washington, DC) Prior to joining Able Services, Ty had a 30 plus career with progressively greater responsibility with several Commercial Real Estate Firms, Real Estate Owners and REITS in the Property Management and Facility Management fields including Regional Vice President of Property Management with Behringer Harvard, Senior Property Manager and Director of Property Management for University City Science Center and Senior Vice President and Principal with Trammell Crow Company. Ty obtained his Real Property Administrator designation in 1996, is a former Director of BOMA Philadelphia as well as former Co-Chair of the Sustainability Committee. He is currently the BOMI instructor of the SMT/SMA program for Philadelphia. Last speaking was the BOMA International Conference in 2019 where I was a panelist for the “Recruiting the Next Generation of Building Engineers Part 2: A Continued Discussion from BOMA 2018” Session
