Principal Research Scientist
Center for Naval Analyses
Dr. Christine Hughes has worked at the Center for Naval Analyses since 2002 and is presently a Principal Research Scientist there. She received her Ph.D. in Biochemistry at Duke University and was a National Institute of Health postdoctoral fellow at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center. Dr. Hughes has worked in several areas at CNA including biometric and forensic exploitation, weapons technical intelligence, chemical and biological weapon defense, identity management and insider threat, and counterterrorism. She supported the Naval Criminal Investigative Service as a counterterrorism intelligence analyst at the FBI National Joint Terrorism Task Force from 2006 to 2009. For the past decade, her work has focused primarily on biometric, digital, and forensic exploitation in support of Identity Operations and Identity Intelligence for sponsors such as the U.S. Navy, U.S. Army, U.S. Marine Corps, Joint IED Defeat Organization, Defense Intelligence Agency, Marine Corps Special Operations Command, USD-Policy, and USD AT&L. She is presently working with the Office of Biometric Identity Management (OBIM)/DHS to develop a Science and Technology roadmap for OBIM’s Share/Match/Store/(Analyze) mission over the next five-to-ten years.
