COL Kevin D. Litwhiler was commissioned a Signal Officer through ROTC at Florida State University (FSU). His previous assignments include: Platoon Leader and Assistant S3 in the 50th Signal Battalion; Commander, 514th Signal Company (Long Range Extension), 50th Signal Battalion; Signal Planner for Infantry Center’s Dismounted BattleSpace Battle Lab; G6 Chief of Operations, XVIII Airborne Corps; Battalion S3, 51st Signal Battalion; Joint Planner/Operations Officer for J6 Staff, Joint Special Operations Command; J6, Chief of Operations; Division G6 for Division West, Ft Hood, TX; Brigade S3, 106th Signal Brigade, Ft Sam Houston, TX; and Commander, 93d Signal Brigade, Ft Eustis, VA. COL Litwhiler has had multiple deployments to Iraq, one to Haiti, and one as J6, Joint Task Force Guantanamo Bay. COL Litwhiler’s education includes a BA in Criminology from FSU; MS in Computer Resource and Information Management from Webster University and MS in National Resource Strategy, the Dwight D. Eisenhower School for National Security and Resource Strategy. COL Litwhiler’s military awards and decorations include the Defense Superior Service Medal, Legion of Merit (1OLC), Bronze Star (2OLC), Defense Meritorious Service Medal, Meritorious Service Medal (3OLC), Joint Service Commendation Medal (1OLC). He is authorized to wear the Joint Meritorious Unit Award (1OLC), Meritorious Unit Commendation, Army Superior Unit Award, Senior Parachutist Badge, and British and Polish Parachutist Badges.
