Tara Smith Vighetti is a Partner of Smith Packing Inc. and she has been with the company for 11 years. Her primary responsibilities include developing and maintaining customer partnerships, initiating branding and marketing strategies, negotiating contracts for Smith’s Farm growers’ and representing company interests in industry associations that support their business. Prior to her current position she worked as a tax accountant for a regional firm in northeast Florida and Junior Auditor for Ernst & Young. She grew up around the produce business and participated as a part-time employee throughout her life but began her career in the industry in 2004 as Controller for Smith’s Florida production company, The Smith Group LLC. An evolution into sales & marketing led her to make a commitment to growing and preserving her family legacy as a partner in Smith Packing Inc in 2012. She graduated with a BS in psychology from UMASS in 2000 and received her MS/MBA from Northeastern University in 2002. Her interests outside of her job include family, music, fitness – running, yoga, and civic activities in her hometown of St. Augustine.
