Garland Perkins is the Senior Manager of Insights and Innovation for the Oppenheimer Group. She has been with the company for seven years. Her primary responsibilities include managing Oppy’s innovation strategy, leading innovation initiatives and drawing together cross-functional expertise between departments to galvanize action. Garland also manages all market-based data analysis and utilization, equipping Oppy’s sales and category teams with intelligence that adds value to Oppy’s business with retailers and food service customers throughout North America. Prior to Oppy, Garland worked for Francis Produce in Greenville, SC selling produce to chefs. Garland obtained a BS Business Management with a Spanish Minor from Clemson University in 2008 and a MS in Agribusiness from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo in 2012. Her interests outside of work include spending time with her one year old son and husband, reading, cooking, biking, skiing, traveling and anything to do with Clemson University, particularly football. Garland is honored to be in the produce industry and aspires to make a notable contribution to the industry through innovative endeavors and/or helping to change consumers’ behavior to increase produce consumption.
