Hon. Joe Hilberman

Hon. Joe Hilberman served on the Los Angeles Superior Court from 2002 through 2009 following a 27-year career in civil litigation. Judge Hilberman is currently a full time mediator, arbitrator and discovery referee with ADR Services, Inc., throughout California, handling personal injury, employment, medical malpractice and other professional liability, tort, business, real estate, construction, homeowners’ association and related disputes. Judge Hilberman was recognized by the Los Angeles Chapter of ABOTA as “Jurist of the Year” in 2008 and by the Los Angeles Daily Journal as one of the “50 Best Neutrals” in California each year from 2009 to the present. His articles have appeared in publications of the Consumer Attorneys Association of Los Angeles, the Association of Southern California Defense Counsel, the Los Angeles Daily Journal, Los Angeles Lawyer published by the LA County Bar Association and Trial Talk of the Colorado Trial Lawyers Association. He is also a frequent lecturer on topics of mediation and litigation. Judge Hilberman has served as an adjunct professor at the UCLA School of Law, Loyola Law School, and has been a guest lecturer at the Pepperdine School of Law and Southwestern School of Law. Judge Hilberman is a member of the Board of Directors of the Los Angeles Chapter of the American Board of Trial Advocates and is Past-President of the UCLA School of Law Alumni Association.
