Shane L. Mark, is the Assistant Director of Public Works for the Town of Needham Public Works Department. Shane has over 20 years of experience within the field of Transportation Operations. He served in the United States Army Reserve for 20 years and retired as a Sergeant First Class/E-7. During his time in the Army, Shane served in the Transportation Corps as the Assistant Operations Sergeant for his Battalion. Shane earned a Master of Science in Management from Ohio Dominican University in August of 2011. As the Assistant Director of Public Works for the Town of Needham, Shane is the Operations manager for the Department and oversees the Highway, Water Sewer & Drains, Fleet, Recycling & Solid Waste, and Parks & Forestry divisions. Prior to his role in Needham, Shane ran the street maintenance division which included managing the snow and ice control program for the City of Newton, Ma from 2015 to 2022 and Columbus, Ohio from 2011-2015.
