Martin King is the Director of Corporate Risk Management for Kaiser Permanente in Oakland, California. He is responsible for the actuarial and financial activities associated with Kaiser’s self-insured risks totaling $500 million in annual loss cost and $2 billion in carried reserves, and he is the director of the workers’ compensation program for 160,000 Kaiser Permanente employees. Martin holds a bachelor’s degree from UCLA and is a Member of the American Academy of Actuaries. He is a longstanding member of the Casualty Actuarial Society’s Program Planning Committee, developing the educational content for actuarial conferences.
