Michael McFarland of the Office of Acquisitions (OA), Division of Acquisition in HHS is on the leadership team to the deploy the agency’s first blockchain modernization effort. The Accelerate program relies on blockchain to streamline the process the department uses to procure products and services from private vendors. Once deployed, HHS’s blockchain technology aims to speed up the procurement process, strengthen data security, reduce its costs and compliance issues. Prior to joining HHS, Mr. Mcfarland Mr. McFarland oversaw a team of experienced acquisition professionals responsible for managing Cloud Computing contract vehicles and strategic software acquisitions at the General Services Administration (GSA).
