Senior Manager, Safety, Fire and Health



Phil Hong is the Senior Manager of Safety, Fire and Health of Shanghai Disney Resort. He is leading SHDR Safety Services to support all SHDR Line of Businesses to provide a safe work environment for SHDR Cast and a safe experience for Guests. Phil has over 20-year field, region and corporate level Safety, Health and Environment management experience in construction, chemicals, manufactory and theme park industries. Phil joined Disney in 2011 as Senior Manager of Safety and Health of Walt Disney Imagineering. During Shanghai Disney Resort project construction stage with 10,000+ construction workers working and living on site, he was a key leader of Safety, Health, Environment, International Labor Standard and Security (SHEILSS) core team and mainly responsible for establishing safety and health management system for Shanghai Disney Resort project based on Disney standard and local best practices, leading project safety and health management team with more than 100 safety and health professionals from over 10 local and international construction management, safety and health services providers to implement established safety and health programs.   In 2015, Phil transitioned to Shanghai Disney Resort Operations team to be Senior Manager of Safety, Fire and Health. On this new role, his main focuses are set up of Safety Services, Fire Services and Emergency Response Team, development and implementation of safety programs and procedures to ensure Shanghai Disney Resort be opened safely in 2016, and be continuously operated and maintained in compliance with Disney and local standards, regulations and codes.   Phil got Bachelor degree from Chongqing Jianzhu University, he holds various certificates like Certified Safety Engineer, OSHA Outreach Trainer, Special Equipment Safety Management (A1), Large-Scale Amusement Equipment Safety Administrator (A7), Fire Safety Management (Class III), etc.
