Jeanne Lowe
Assistant Professor
Seattle University

Jeanne Rowe is an Assistant Professor of Nursing at Seattle University. She is also a quality improvement consultant for UW Medicine, where she provides a bridge between financial and clinical domains to inform leadership of the financial impact of various quality-based programs pertaining to hospital-acquired events, including Hospital-Acquired Pressure Injuries. As a clinician for over 26 years, Jeanne's background in wound healing, critical care, finance, quality improvement, and health care policy has provided a bridge between the financial and clinical domains. By modeling financial impact of the various quality-based programs, she is able to inform health system leadership where to strategically target resources, including systematically tracking and addressing hospital-acquired events. For four years, Jeanne worked directly for the Chief Financial Officer of UW Medicine health system as the manager of the pay-for-performance programs overseeing system-wide coordination and support of efforts in the movement toward value-based healthcare. Jeanne earned her doctorate (PhD) from the University of Washington’s School of Nursing, where her research focused on improving data collection on chronic lower extremity wounds to develop focused interventions and increase access to appropriate care. Since then, she has applied her knowledge to analyzing medical record data and understanding payer regulations regarding quality performance indicators, including hospital-acquired events. She then works with clinicians and leadership to develop quality improvement projects that will improve patient outcomes.
